How can I set xfce4 in spanish?

When I start xfce through gdm, I can choose the language I wan't to use in GDM, but when I start it through the console, I keep getting it in english.

I've added these lines to my /etc/profile, but it does not work (don't know if they are of any use).

export LANG="es_ES"
esport LANGUAGE="es_ES"
export LC_TYPE="ISO-8859-1"
export LC_CTYPE="es_ES"
export LC_ALL="es_ES"

And where were all the sportsmen who always pulled you though?
They're all resting down in Cornwall
writing up their memoirs for a paper-back edition
of the Boy Scout Manual.
