Linking Mouse buttons to Keys

So I want to link one of my mouse buttons to a key on my keyboard.

ie...
When I press my mouse button, X detects it as pressing super. (Holding and releasing should work appropriately as well.)

What options do I have?

I remember you can do this by adding stuff like

keycode115(which is super)  = Pointer_Button1

But you also had to turn on something else like xkb . Try googling for xkbset if I am right

You can also use Xbindkeys, that's what I do.
