Weird Mouse and keyboard issues

Hello people. I installed Arch some days ago and it works great, but I'm having a couple of annoying issues with my keyboard and mouse.
As for the keyboard, it happens sometimes that it seems to get stuck with one key. If I open a terminal window when this happens, I see weird sets of characters, like ^[[2~ (something like this image: http://img520.imageshack.us/img520/9033 … azojl2.png ). It seems that for some reason the 'Alt' key and/or the 'Alt Gr' key get stuck since I can't use them when this happens (for example, if I attempt close a window with 'Alt-F4', it doesn't work, or if I try to type a character that requires the use of the 'Alt Gr' key, like @, #, etc. it doesn't work either.

And as for the mouse issue, it's minor, but still a bit annoying: sometimes when I'm browsing a website on firefox and use the mouse wheel to scroll up or down, the browser suddenly goes one page backward (as if I had pressed the browser's back arrow button).

I don't think these two issues are directly due to my hardware because it's been working fine for months on other distros I've tried in this PC. In case this is relevant, here's my xorg.conf:

do you havea and use multimediakeys on your keyboard? i have similar "problems" when using media buttons.

Hi. Yes, my keyboard has some multimedia keys, but I never use them (keys like volume up and down, track backward and forward, stop, play/pause). Do you think this can be the source of the problem? If so, how to solve it? Thanks in advance.

Hi. Does this happen also when you switch to a console (I'm not sure if that's the correct name - ctrl-alt-f1)?

Yes, it also happens if I switch to a virtual console. In fact, I attempted to open a session on a virtual console (ctrl-alt-F1) the last time it happened, but I couldn't because my password wasn't logged correctly; the weird thing is, I could type the login name (for example, 'root' or my user name), but when I tried to enter the password it always returned an authentication error because the password was misspelled, or something. I also tried to reset the X server to see if it solved the issue, but I couldn't because the 'Alt' key was not working (when it happens, the only solution is to reboot from the GUI). Any ideas?

Hi again people. Sorry for double post. This is just to let you know it seems my keyboard was broken after all. It started happening on Debian too, so I happened to plug an old keyboard I had in my closet, and it's been working fine for about 24 hours.

The only issue left is the weird browser behavior when scrolling down or up on websites with the mouse. Does anyone have a clue?

Bit of a old topic but, I had the same problem with Firefox and I managed to solve it by changing my Xorg.conf
This is how my mouse section looks like:
