File managers make openbox crash

I use pcmanfm and emelfm2 as file managers with arch on openbox. a lot of times I will be using one of these file managers and openbox will crash completely so  have to kill X11 and lose all my work. Is anyone else getting this? Is there a solution?
EDIT: I realized that this happens when I run a command with sudo with a file manager

Re: File managers make openbox crash

Are you able to use the file managers for a while before the crashes occur?

Re: File managers make openbox crash

I'm going out on a limb here but do you have dbus before hal in your daemons array in /etc/rc.conf?

For some odd reason after updating openbox and some X-related packages, dbus started acting up and my openbox would error out, gnome was also misbehaving (no gnome-settings-daemon).

All very odd since it'd had been working fine for months. Putting dbus before hal in the daemons array seems to have fixed everything for me.

Edit: actually my problem was once again libtracker which I had previously posted about:

sudo pacman -Sf libtracker

sorry for the redherring - the above may or may not work for you
