What FTP client is that and can you get it in English?

Midnight commander (pacman -S mc-utf8), and yeah it works in english.

i guess bloat is relative. i'm sure there's someone wondering wtf i need all these pictures and panels and whatnot for.

Many people when told about compiz immediatly think about KDE/Gnome wobbly windows big cubes in every screenshot and huge memory usage ... Here I was just showing the ressources everything was using (same mem usage as when running openbox), but I agree, bloat is relative to users. (Some people think that even X is bloat)

hehe, thanks! What a cool cat....I'll go and try to make a similar picture of my cat (he's all black ! )

mine's black too, but i rarely catch him in an 'action' pose. the one in the wallpaper looks like a cat who hangs out in our yard all the time. after holding my cat (he weighs 17lbs and feels more like a bear cub than a cat), picking her up (she weighs 5lbs) feels like i'm picking up a christmas ornament.

Dream_Team, your openbox setup uses 411 MB ?

I'm pretty sure mine only runs that high when I have FF with atleast 4~5 Tabs open.

that's compiz. he just made it look like openbox.

It's not rare I use that much ram with openbox running (when I launch kde apps and all, it loads the kded etc ...)
I could get down to 280mb with compiz, just as much than with openbox.
On that screenshot, I had firefox running in the background with ~10 tabs

Ah, that seems to be more reasonable. Hmm..... Now I'm interested in running pure Compiz. Might be more effecient then running OB + Xcompmgr, battery wise; especially if I turn off most of the effects.

I don't think it will be better battery wise, the GPU is still always sollicited even if it's less because of the disabled effects.

I just got dual monitors working with ATi's BigDesktop feature.

Yeah... I may have to mess around with XRandR again later. I can move my mouse off-screen quite a ways into THE VOID.

Most of my apps should be fairly self explanatory.

I'm using XFCE4 with an edited version of Clearlooks with the old color scheme, the nifty flat setting, and some of the widgets shrunk down a bit. Took me forever to find the wallpaper, I think I eventually found it here: http://people.os-zen.net/rezza/mywallbydevkit2jt4.png

If you don't mind, I'd like to have that modified version of Clearlooks, looks great. Thanks

Man, you sure know what you're doing. I've been working on a quite similar config (though I'm using ALLBLACK icons and instead or orange I've got green )and yours looks like what mine should... Really nice indeed! What gtk theme is that?
