Before my /boot partition gets hosed...

Can the noatime and nodiratime options be used with ext2 filesystems?  I'm thinking the answer is yes, but I want to make sure just to be on the safe side.

Yes, you can use those parameters with EXT2.

I'm under the impression that noatime includes nodiratime so it isn't necessary to use both of them.

add noauto and dont mount /boot at all

you dont need it to boot

only mount it when you do pacman -Syu or update the boot manager
