Hal ntfs and USB-HD

Hello,

I converted FAT32 into NTFS on my USB-HD. So now KDE find the HD, but it can't mount it.

 su -c "mount /dev/sda1 /media/TRANSFER/ -t ntfs-3g -o rw,sync"

This works fine and then the icon will appear on the desktop
I read some other forums and I think there should be something to change into HAL policies, but my experiments failed.
Any better idea?

I have no issues with GNOME automounting with ntfs-3g installed. My USB drive pops up on insertion.

I don't think that changing udev rules will improve the situation. It was simply working when formatted as FAT32.
Mostly it doesn't mount because now it has changed as NTFS. My opinion is that is HAL policy to be changed.

BTW, I'm so happy that ntfs-3g works fine that it would be fine to redirect old ntfs calls to the newer ntfs-3g

Well, I'm all for doing things as easy as possible, and UDEV seems to be the simplest way to do volume management, completely independent from X-stuff like thunar-volman or gnome-volume-manager and the KDE-equivalent.

I like it very much and since I try to help with the little stuff that I know, I made the suggestion.

I fix my HAL policy and now it works as charm
I don't know where to find an original to show here the diff, perhaps I may publish it entirely on my web site (on demand)
