how do i output sound to file??

hi,

ive just started playing with 'mixxx' from the aur, and would like to record some of my achievements! can i get mixxx or my soundcard to write the sound to a file (mp3, ogg, or wav) and also play the sound through my speakers at the same time??

though i don't know if mixxx supports jack.

i installed jack and the frontend, but wenever i have something on my box playing, including either xmms or mixxx, i cant start jack, it comes up with an error saying my soundcard is in use!

it seems that mixxx supports jackd.
jack is a sound deamon.
you have to start jackd first through qjackctl and then start the applications you want to record, mix, etc.
