nasty X session+console ?

ok, just did an update 5 minutes ago, and now if I leave X for a second and enter a nongraphical console X restarts.

I use xorg and gnome
the apps that are usually on when this happens : firefox, dcgui-qt, gnome-terminal

your first post indicates that you are leaving X voluntarily.  are you using X as a daemon?  if so, then whenever you leave X, you must stop the (k|g|x)dm daemon.

i use gdm to enter X.

yes i leave it  but not permanently, I switch to a virtual console (ctrl+alt+F1) and when i try ctrl+alt+F7 X resets
