Hi,
If I connect the Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS to my PC through USB, it says "Image Storage Device" found in KDE.
Then I can open the folder, but it only shows a folder "Mass Storage Camera". If I open that folder, inside it is again a folder "Mass Storage Camera". Inside that, is again a folder "Mass Storage Camera". And it goes on like that forever. The actual pictures are never visible.
Also, the path is system:/media/camera/camera/camera/camera/camera/camera/camera ETC......
I never see the actual pictures.
How can I properly get the pictures from the Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS in ArchLinux?
Thanks!
EDIT: also, is it possible to mount it in any way in the console? What kind of device under /dev would it be there to be able to browse the files?
EDIT2: the program "digiKam" appears to hang at 40% when "Listing Folders".
EDIT3: screenshot of the infinite folder. After installing digiKam it also looks different: now all folders are below each other instead of deeper in the tree. Whenever pressing the + a new one appears, but never the pictures.

Yes, it hangs at 40% when trying to read...
Are the new Canon PowerShots already supported by Linux?

I have SD1000 and it works ok under PTP.

It's the same on two other Archlinux systems (my older computer, and someone else's 64-bit Arch box).
What driver in Linux does this camera connection handling? Could I find there if they have already supported the SD1100?
