modem not detected after kernel upgrade to 2.6.25.4-1

Just wanted to report that after upgrade to kernel 2.6.25.4-1 I cannot dial out when I run wvdial.  Here's the error message:

Modem not responding.

I solve the problem by downgrading to 2.6.24.4-1.

I have the same problem and also using wvdial.   Stopped working with 2.6.25
My modem is a 3com/USR pci hardware based modem, not a winmodem.
00:0c.0 Serial controller: 3Com Corp, Modem Division 56K FaxModem Model 5610 (rev 01)
3-year, is your modem external or internal(pci/isa)? Do you need a special kernel driver(winmode)?

An ISA modem, USR 6671749-00.  No special driver.  I'm running on an old system, P III, 733 MHz, with 448 meg memory.
