Sonata goes boom

Hi,
I love mpd and decided to install sonata (used it on ubuntu 7.10 - 8 before too, sonata that is). Now I get crazy errors and problems trying to run sonata, if I click the sonata icon in KDEMOD the entire OS freezes, sometimes I can switch to tty1 and then back and it starts working again. If I start it in console nothing happens but dmesg starts outputting this: http://pastebin.com/m2de9f68b

My mpd works perfectly with gnome music player and mpc.

Any pointers on how I debug this would be great / solutions / workarounds.

Re: Sonata goes boom

Try running sonata from terminal and let us know if it prints out any error messages -- this will help to diagnose what the problem is.  BTW, the latest sonata runs without any problems here (I use openbox).

Re: Sonata goes boom

I figured it out, its my harddrive slowly collapsing, ie it is reading from broken sectors (python lies within these) and as such crashes. I could confirm it by reinstalling python and experiencing the same error. Now after reinstalling python sonata works again. Feel free to delete this post if you want.
BTW, no errors from sonata in console. Thanks though.
