Ok, this happened two days ago to me. I hopped on IRC for 10 minutes, but no one had any idea what the problem was, and I ended up just doing a complete reinstall. Now it's happening again and, well, I really need this fixed. I have no idea what's causing this, When I boot up, I get something similar to the following: (this is just a sample from my memory...if someone really does want a complete output I guess I could write everything down and post it)
Mounting local filesystems....
/etc/rc.sysinit: line 293: /bin/mount: permission denied
/etc/rc.sysinit: line 299: /bin/mount: read-only filesystem
Initializing Random Seed...
/etc/rc.sysinit: line 321: /bin/cat: permission denied
INIT: cannot execute /etc/rc.multi
INIT: cannot execute /sbin/agetty
INIT: Id "c1" respawning too fast
INIT: no more processes left in this runlevel

Which version of the installer are you using?

I'm using the latest installer. It boots up fine and works flawlessly for a day or two, and then this happens =/
here's my pacman.log if I installed anything I shouldn't have. http://pastebin.com/m5a8de163
and here's my rc.conf: http://pastebin.com/m314a81e6
