Making a good Openbox desktop

Hello all, since I switched to Arch (still loving it) I've been pretty much using a copy of ubunut's desktop and tools but in the search for something faster I decided to give Openbox a try. I would still like a pretty complete desktop (a nice panel with systemtray, clock, etc and Icons on the desktop), now assuming this is a complete build from scratch what app's should I install and are there any problems I should look out for?

Thanks in advance for all the help, I know most people say the best thing about Arch is pacman and AUR but personally I've never found it so easy to get into a distro through the excellent help people receive in the forums.

try lxde. It uses openbox but sets it up in a much saner way IMO.
Comes with a panel, clock, system tray etc

I use regular Openbox, but lxde seems like a quick way to jump right in.

Thanks for the info all and I'm almost setup now just have a few niggling issues and I'm still trying to make my mind up with what panel to use but that's the price you pay for having so much choice.
