xterm colours

I use gvim because I like to use the "dark blue" colour scheme and a smaller than average terminal font.

I was wondering if it would be possible to set up xterm colours to behave like the gvim "dark blue" colour scheme. I don't know much about xproperties, but I assume I have to edit those somewhere.

I want to be able to have xterm use these colours, and have normal vim use these colours when run inside xterm, and to have centericq and lynx use these colours instead of the defaults. What do I have to do to get this?

just change a to x, it should work.
you can also find more stuff in /etc/X11/app-defaults/ , there is default settings
there is also xterm man page, www.linuxreviews.org/man/xterm
the manpage is a killer so I just switched to aterm and used dp's conf instead.

yeah, I know... I HATE THE X MANPAGES.

Thanks for the start, I'll start playing with it. If I compare it to the dark blue colour scheme and work on the man page (SUPER HEADACHE), I should be able to get something that looks like it.

Then I'll have to change the colours in mutt, centericq, and vim. hmmm. What we do for eyecandy. Think of all the time that would be saved if the only option was the white/grey on black console, eh?

Hey, is it possible to change the colour of the console, like so I wouldn't have to log into X at all? :-D

I'm not sure about the exact differences between a and xterm ,
maybe transparancy,
I'm typing this in links with a dark space graphics background

aterm crashes for me sometimes though and xterm never do....

partial for sure (the prompt and /etc/issue), but i dont know for the whole agetty - using another tty-client would help

I already have coloured prompt and issue. I want to have a non-black background on the console.

I got my xterm colours set up, now vim looks just like gvim, and xterm is easy on the eyes and centericq is similar colours. Still have to do mutt though.

Maybe I'll take a screenshot someday. :-D
