empty cd key not allowed on this server when I am trying to join a ET

I have googled and tried everything that I can find and I still can't fix this . at first I thought that it was my firewall blocking PB so I by passed it but it made no difference I am wondering if maybe it is the way I installed the game I installed the game  using this way posted herehttp://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=46846 could this be why I am having problems ?

hmm  I find it strange that I get this problem on 64 bit Arch Linux when all I had to do  on 64 bit Ubuntu  was delete the pb folders and up date punk buster.
