Hi people,
I've been reading a lot of good reviews about ArchLinux and I'm really interested in testing it. However, I can't get my network setup and I havent managed to instal xorg or kde without it. My network is a wireless network and using a wired network isn't an option. I can get the device to be recognized, or at least I think so, but I just can't authenticate using WPA2 and get an IP. But the truth is that I would prefer to have KNetworkManager to set it up and connect. So, is there a way I can download and instal xorg and kde without a network?
TIA,
Scirious.

Can't you just temporarily plug you computer in to the router? Or post your network configuration and we could help you fix it.
You can always use "pacman -Sp xorg kde knetworkmanager" which will list the urls for all the packages you need. Got to a computer with a network connection, download them, dump them in you pacman cache (/var/cache/pacman/pkg) then run "pacman -S xorg kde knetworkmanager". It is about 70 package to download though...

Hi, thank you for your support.
My network adapter is an Intel Pro 3945 abg. I have succesfully loaded the module iwlwifi-3945-ucode.
Network ESSID is "Scirious Network". I does broadcast the ESSID.
Encryption is WPA2 AES. Key is xxxxxxxx.
Channel 11.
I'm using the 64-bit version of Arch. How do I set this network? I can't plug the cable to the router.

See if you can install netcfg2: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Network_Profiles
