Wow your fast...
[djolk@sparks ~]$ sudo pacman -Q madwifi-eee-svn
Password:
madwifi-eee-svn 3624-1
I think it's there. I reinstalled that as well, but nothing.

I also get this in messages.log
May 27 17:51:54 sparks NetworkManager: <WARN> nm_dbus_get_wireless_user_key_done(): nm_dbus_get_user_key_for_network_cb(): dbus returned an error. (org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.AccessDenied) A security policy in place prevents this sender from sending this message to this recipient, see message bus configuration file (rejected message had interface "org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerInfo" member "getKeyForNetwork" error name "(unset)" destination "org.freedesktop.NetworkManagerInfo")
So I suppose this is something to do with dbus?

Try to add yourself to network group in /etc/groups.
keep in touch.
Offline
Nope I'm in the network group.
I though I had it, I had network and networkmanager daemons running, so fixed that, crossed my fingers now the network manager applet just crashes out.
I am feeling lost.

Are you using gnome nm-applet or kde's knetworkmanager? Try switching to another one.
networkmanager is known as a constant source of grief, at least to me. So you have two ways out: either don't give up and dig, or abandon it completely and use something more reliable like wifi-radar.

I have the same problem, and here is my solution from wiki:
You must also "disable" the default network daemon, and add the dhcdbd and networkmanager daemons in this order:
DAEMONS=( ... !network dhcdbd networkmanager ... )
Note: If you happen to specify the fam daemon in your array, it must appear after networkmanager. The same also applies to portmap if specified.

touchpad: Mouse and tap functioin works. No edge-scroll nor multi-tap. Not recognized as Synaptics. (Actually it's Elantech?)
Now edge-scroll is working on my 900 similar as 701. Latest version of kernel-eee (with some patches) recognizes touchpad as Elantech correctly and stock Synaptics driver works on X.

If there are some patches I need to get my kernel working well on a 901, let me know, I can add them as long as I know where they come from and they aren't total shit.

I'm happy if kernel-eee supports Elantech by default. However, I need to make some issues clear before proceeding. I'll let you know when ready.
I've installed my own kernel-eee package built with Elantech support on 701 and 900 for evaluation purpose. Both look work fine with the same kernel so far.

Does anyone else ever get a segfault with libfontconfig when starting X? This is mostly happening now that I have installed openbox.

I did a system upgrade and Wifi stopped working, probably upgraded kernel. I was tired an I uninstalled kernel26, think I shouldn't have done that. I haven't turned off it yet though. What should I do?
I am a little too tired to mess around with it, without knowing what I am doing, but I need to use it soon.

Aww... you are probably just missing the wlan-drivers like the couple guys earlier, but you should always atleast take a little look at what's going to happen once you hit that damn enter. ;<

Thank you!!! I reinstalled kernel26 using an USB drive and then tried to install madwifi-eee-svn-3680-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz. It errored out with ":: madwifi-eee-svn: requires kernel-eee=2.6.25.4-1". Just before that, I had tried out installing eee-kernel, and it errored out with "error: 'kernel-eee-2.6.25.4-1-i686.pkg.tar.gz': package already installed". Installing madwifi-ng-eee-3545-2 fixed the wireless, though, 10 minutes before I was going to leave for work.

amixer: Unable to find simple control 'LineOut',0
is there a way to fix this? (well im sure there is, just didnt find it, sorry)

I've read abit, but not all 31 pages, forgive me
But I wanted to know, does everything work with Arch? As in webcam, the FN keys, scrolling on touchpad, hibernate etc. I'm reading many different things, I'd like some clarification.
Thanks in advance!

Concerning the 701 model, everything's working perfectly.
I didn't play much with acpi, but the basic functions are completely operationnal: sleep, wifi on/off, volume control, etc.
You need two things: toofishes's packages (see his repo) and ighea's acpi package. I assure you that's a fine combo, and using arch on this machine is a real pleasure.

Thanks vomix for that, I'll try this for sure

Well I got Arch running on my EEE quite good, running Kdemod
Webcam works, sound works, sleep works.. perfect
Using netcfg2 for my wireless also works perfect, except for 1 thing. When coming out of sleep, my wireless connection is gone and I can't reset it, I have to reboot my EEE.
Fn + F1, F2, F3, F4 work. I haven't tested F5 and F6 yet, however, F7 till F9 don't seem to work. They are supposed to lower, mute and raise the volume. It doesn't do this though.
Any thoughts on this?

Try re-enabling the wireless with Fn-F2.

Upgrade to the latest acpi-eee. 9-5 should do the trick, if not some kde-app might be breaking it.

Re-enabling the wireless didn't work. Same results "ping: unknown host .."
pacman -Qi acpi-eee states it's version 9-5, so that's not the problem. Which kde-app could be breaking it?
Thanks for your quick answers!

Same issue here but without any Kde app because i'm using xfce.

Ah I'm not the only one, that gives some hope!
Btw, how can I check my battery life? I've yet to discover this (first time laptop user). I thought it was a widget in KDE but it isn't there
