Openbox doesn't start up and no errors shown (SOLVED)

I have problems with Openbox - I have it set at .xinitrc like this:

exec openbox

but when it should start up with startx-command, X11 is exited and I get back to shell. No error messages are shown.
I have tried to check the X11 logs, but even there nothing is shown. Where are the Openbox error logs?

Xorg seems fine because I can start KDE nicely. But I want something lighter smile

Re: Openbox doesn't start up and no errors shown (SOLVED)

exec openbox-session

Changing your xinitrc entry to the above might fix it. Make sure there is nothing else in xinitrc that could make xorg exit aswell.

dyscoria I have too

exec openbox

and I don't think it's the cause..
sven, do you have copied menu.xml and rc.xml in ~/.config/openbox/ ?

Thanks, _Marco_ and dyscoria for tips! I spotted something that was the reason - I had & after 'exec openbox'. I removed it and Openbox started up normally now.
