It gets cleared at boot. You could adjust this in /etc/rc.sysinit but you really don't want too...

Oh Arch does this by default? In Gentoo you have to set the behavior yourself, which is why my OS once crashed from an overflow of temp files. XD Needless to say, it's better just to have it get cleared at boot, trust me.
