My computer is a Inspiron 530 and my eithernet card is Intel Corporation 82562V-2 10/100 Network Connection. I'm trying to install from the FTP CD and I can't get past step 0, it won't detect my ethernet card at all... I think lspci will list it, but it won't load it or w/e... So I read somewhere on the wiki that I should use modprobe... but I have to use a module and someone on the IRC channel recommended using ndiswrapper... well, with ndiswrapper, I need some .inf file form a driver... and I have no idea where to find that... This is becoming increasingly complicated. I really want to use Arch, but this is not being so nice. Ubuntu would work fine on my computer, or is working fine at the moment... I know Ubuntu is not Arch but... I would think there would be similar hardware detection technology. I wish I understood how the install process worked better. I feel blind at the moment.

get the core installer. Install only the base. Later, in the installed system, it is easy to configure it.

Can I install the core system with the FTP CD? I'm not sure how to do this either.

If he's using the 2007 core CD, it will not work as I just tried this install last night and I have the same problem. The 2008 rc core CD had problems booting for me, so that may not be a solution either.
