Amarok and an Ipod

I finally got fed up with the slow scrolling on itunes and am trying to learn how to use amarok.
One question:
Can I get amarok to import an audio CD into the ipod format? Will it look up the CD track info on the web?
Are itunes files smaller than MP3?

Is there a better Ipod program?
