i thought it might be nice to import/export your desktop styles, either to share it with other users or to "copy" it to another machine or to have a backup of your fancy desktop setup in case you want to reinstall arch or try another distro
and because it can have this really cool name
so i started writing some stupid "script" which is basically just a frontend to other scripts copying etc information of specific desktop settings:
http://pub.kingofnerds.net/theminator/theminator
copy this somewhere (preferably into $PATH)
run "theminator --install" as root to download some files (plugins.list, plugins for xfce4 and conky)
they will be stored in /usr/share/theminator (you can change the path, its the 2nd line of the script)
theminator -h
to show usage
xfce4 plugin seems to work (didnt test it that much) but font and qt theme settings are not implemented yet (maybe it would make more sense to write a seperate plugin for that)
conky too since it just copies .conkyrc
for those who'd like to write a plugin, i wrote up a small readme here: http://pub.kingofnerds.net/theminator/write_a_plugin
things i still need to do:
write more goddamn plugins
something like .theminatorrc support
replace plugins.list with a plugin directory
split xfce4 and xfwm4
qt theme and font support for xfce4
