Hi guys,
I'm installed Arch on Acer Aspire 5715Z which has an intel GM965 video card. I followed the beginners guide, this is not my first installation of Arch, but there is something that I cannot solve. You can see my problems here:

I tried to use hwd -xa but I got several errors on /etc/hwd/pci.hw but anyway it seems to be able to produce a good xorg.conf with 1280x800 screen resolution but with the problems you can see from the images above.
I tried xorgconfigure and X -configure too, but with the same result.
I installed xf86-video-intel and I tried also with i810 but with no luck. Trying with Vesa drivers I'm able to see the screen but at a max resolution of 1024x768 and fonts are not good to see.
Anyone can help me please ? I don't want to install another distro
Thanks
Antonio

with the vesa xorg.conf do you still have the same weird appearance?
can you post your current xorg.conf here?

Thanks for your answer.
With vesa I don't have the same problem. I mean, I can manage well my Arch box but just until 1024x768 and, of course, the fonts are not so good on this lcd.
Chaning driver line with Intel give me the problem you saw. Here is xorg.conf generated by hwd -xa :
Thank you

uhm.. do you get some weird xorg error too?
I found on the wiki two articles about the intel video card
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Intel_GMA_950
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Intel_GMA_945
have you tried to follow them?
(I have an ATI card so I can't help you very much)
