One way of not using passwords and yet making a site like yours possible
is to use email...

like:
person A wants to become uploader
so A sends an email to iwantoupload@linuxtorrents.org (answering some kind of
captcha question like say what's 5+3 to weed out bots)
there's a mail fetcher on the server which checks for new mail at
that account. as soon as it gets the mail it checks for the captcha
answer. if that's OK, it adds the email to some authorised list.

now, if A wants to upload sth, then the only thing that is needed
is to attach torrents to the email. the body of the email could
also serve as some sort of description.

i dont know of any existing community/sharing sites which work
like this, though.

another plus point of making the torrents publicly viewable is that
it will also turn up on google

Ok, in order to be a seeder, you have to register, but I took off the restrictions of having to register in order to use the torrents ....... also, uploaded the 2008.03-1 torrents ...... for Arch.  Looks like we need seeders for those torrents ......very few seeders for those.......the download page is showing the 2007 torrent files still (I did make note of it in the forums section so someone could remedy that).
