I have a transport gx+ (700mhz PIII) laptop w/ no cd or working fd, so the way I decided to install arch was via one of those laptop HD->desktop IDE cable connector chips. Everything installed fine, but the default and backup images won't boot because they can't find the disk, so I'm thinking it has to do w/ modules that needed to be specified in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf, the problem being that since I can't boot it I have no clue what those are. Does anyone have any suggestion regarding what modules I should use and/or any other tidbits?
Edit-Using the module piix and telling grub that root=/dev/hda3 instead of sda3, which got me to the filesystem repair prompt, and from there I edited fstab and menu.lst, did the trick. Now I get to play w/ my $15 laptop goodness.
