I am getting really bad fps while Enemy Territory is is running. I am wondering if there is a way to tell if I am running 2 Enemy Territories at the same time. When the game is running I don't know how to get back to my desktop to see if there is more then one running . Also even if I could get to my desktop I wouldn't know how to check

I dont know about et but on other games i alt tab to a different window and it goes back to my normal resolution.
i usually run htop to see whats running and if you want to kill a process hilight it, push k then enter
you can type ps aux in a terminal to get the process list too and to kill one there look at the process number on the left of it and type kill processnumber
if it doesnt die type kill -9 processnumber

if you can't get out with alt-tab you should be able to get out with ctrl+alt+F1, which will bring you to a new console. login, and run 'ps -aux | grep enemy' which will search for all processes running with 'enemy' in their name. Replace enemy with something else if it's not called that. after that you can hit ctrl+alt+F7 to get back to your main screen.

Wow I didn't know about the ps aux that will come in handy. as for the alt tab that doesn't work in ET I sure wished that it did . Something must be wrong because when I typed in "ps aux" and counted the process's I counted 77 which is over three times as many then when I used to run my tiny2003 OS

Well that command half works it takes ET out of full screen but my mouse and keyboard only have control of ET .

In q3 you have to bring up the console in order to free your mouse from the game.
