Ralink RT2500

I am just about to install Arch onto my second partition, I'm just a little bit stumped, I will need the network to get a full install, But Can I use this card with WPA-PSK without having to connect to a network(no possibility of a wired connection), or will I need to download some kind of driver.

I could always put the drivers on one of my partitions, but How would I grab this and use it at the arch CLI, the wiki is using some terms that are a little above my head, I'd be greatful If someone could tell me what I need to do to get me a nice install going. (I can install arch fine, just having queries about the wireless).

thanks James.

Addition:

It is a PCI card, and has the 'RT2560' chip on it.

Re: Ralink RT2500

I installed Arch using the core cd and this guide:  http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ins … _Interface.

You'll probably want to look at these pages as well, the beginner's guide http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners_Guide and wireless setup http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wireless_Setup.

Edit:  Welcome to Arch!

Hmmm. Actually, that article seems quite deprecated. Nearly all wireless tools and drivers are on the installer cd's now. wink
You may easily configure your interface from the console with ifconfig, iwconfig, dhcpcd, etc.
Here is the wireless wiki. Keep in mind that the driver should already be available. I installed Arch on an old compaq with only an Atheros wireless adaptor and it worked fine.
This seems to be your driver: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wireless#rt2x00 So you should be able to modprobe rt2500pci and be on your way.... smile
