USB LPT Adapter

Hi,
I recently bought a USB -> LPT adapter to be able to connect my Apple LaserWriter printer to my new notebook, which doesn't have any LPT ports. Unter Vista all works fine without any further configuration needed. So I'm pretty sure, that adapter and printer are working well.
Under Arch Linux I plug the adapter and get the following messages from the system:

dmesg:

hub 5-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 7
usb 4-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 27
usb 4-1: device descriptor read/64, error -71

I have loaded all kernel modules which are, according to the wiki cups tutorial, neccessary: usblp, lp, parport_lp.
During my research, I even got a response from usblp:

usblp0: USB Bidirectional printer dev 26 if 0 alt 0 proto 2 vid 0x1A86 pid 0x7584
usblp0: nonzero read bulk status received: -84
usblp0: nonzero read bulk status received: -84
usb 4-1: USB disconnect, address 26

But I'm not sure, how I got so far big_smile

Is there someone who also uses an adapter for printing and is able to help me?
