udev

I install udev follow wiki. Then system start alsamixer daemon says that no one sound cards not found. But after loggin in and '/etc/rc.d/alsamixer start'
he starts ok. How to fix it?

Maybe you need to put the alsa daemon later in the daemons array (specifically, I'm thinking after hotplug). Otherwise, maybe you need to load the alsa modules in the modules array.

I add hotplug daemon before alsamixer daemon adn now it works! Thnx.
PS: udev faster than devfs?

putting a module in rc.conf is the same as the command "modprobe" so that's the easiest way i guess,


arch + gentoo + initng + python = enlisy

I think modules are loaded before daemons, so if *all* the sound related modules are loaded in the modules array, the daemon should load without problem. You just have to make sure the right modules are loaded in the modules line.
