Hi,
Gnome shows 2 "Cannot eject volume" popups when I want to eject an inserted CD by pressing the eject button of my optical drive. But after the 2 messages, the CD doesn't get ejected (it gets only unmounted), I have to press the eject button once again.
When I eject the CD by right-clicking on the CD icon on my desktop and select "Eject" everything works just fine, but it's annoying that I have to use the context menu to eject my CD.
Does anyone experienced the same problem? I never had this problem before and I've got no idea what could cause this problem.
Gnome 2.22-1
hal 0.5.10-1
kernel 2.6.24-ARCH

Since you're using hal, have you commented out the cd/dvd entries in /etc/fstab?

yes, I have.
I have no idea how I should find out what is causing this problem. There is no log entry in the whole /var directory.
lshal -m shows:
(with eject button)
Start monitoring devicelist:
-------------------------------------------------
20:24:58.352: storage_model_UJ_845D property storage.removable.media_available = true
20:24:58.372: storage_model_UJ_845D property storage.cdrom.write_speeds = {'4234', '1411'}
20:24:58.670: volume_label_Arch_Linux_CORE_i686 added

20:25:06.346: storage_model_UJ_845D condition EjectPressed =
Here the popups occur - and I have to press the eject button again, output continues:
