winex3/cedega/cvswinex stopped working for me after my upgrade to NPTL. i wanna stay NPTL, but i want winex to work too. i did some googling and found out that it was because wine is not compatible with pthreads. for me, running wineserver would give me an immediate segmentation fault.
anywho, right now i'm compiling from cvs hoping it would work. it's taking super long too.
has anyone else gotten wine to work with NPTL?

actually a reinstall of wine to the latest version from the arch repositories fixed my problem...i think it's the wine that came with winex....

well i still can't get this stupid thing to work. cvswinex doesn't work, cedega doesn't work. stock wine works...but i want winex working.
whenever i use cedega with pthreads on, i get this error message:
/usr/bin/cedega: line 323: 1302 Segmentation fault $SHELL -c "$RUNWINE $WINVER -debugmsg $DEBUGMSG -use-dos-cwd $WORKDIR -- $COMMAND_LINE"
whenever i turn off pthreads, i get this:
wine: exists lstat socket : No such file or directory
i'm using NPTL.
i searched linuxquestions.org, and found something about adding a line to the top of /usr/bin/cedega to remove the wineserver-??? directory. well when that happens cedega complains that the directory doesn't exist.
GRRRR!!!! anyone here got any clues?

basically somewhere along the line it worked! woohoo...ok no more kernel recompiling...at least for the next few days

you dont need wine installed to use cedega/winex. but to answer your question, i use nptl and cedega works fine. actually i use point2play.
