SIS Onboard stopped working

Hi. I've got an Asrock G-Pro mainboard with an onboard SIS ac97 soundchip. Yesterday it was up and running under Gnome (although there was no way to get the Master Volume up in alsamixer). Today it doesn't work anymore. I can hear a 'click' when a mute/unmute a channel (PCM) with Gnome Volume Control, but there is no sounds whatsoever.

My user is member of the audio group, modules seems to load and alsa restores the levels ok. Anyone any ideas what can cause this problem?
