Problem with QuakeWars

Following the recent upgrade of kernel and graphics driver (nvidia), I can no longer play QuakeWars. As soon as the game menu should show up, the screen gets white and the cursor becomes a gray box. After a while the rotating earth that should be in the menu appears, but it only shows some weird gradient. Also, the screen gets filled with black artifacts.
Anyone else experiencing this or something similar?

EDIT: I have now downgraded to the nvidia driver in the extra repository. Title screen and some maps now work OK, but game crashes immediately after start of some maps. (cache aliasing errors in console)

EDIT3: I've upgraded to 173.14 again from the official installer, since there are no 32-bit libs in the Arch package. It still has the same symptoms as the older version though, with map crashes. Intro screen and menu works perfectly. I'm really out of clues here. I'll wait for the next release of either the kernel or the driver.

Re: Problem with QuakeWars

Check on nvnews.

The "bad caching" message can safely be ignored, IIRC.
