Vbox usb error[SOLVED]

I get this when launching vbox.

Could not load the Host USB Proxy Service (VERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND). The service might be not installed on the host computer.

Re: Vbox usb error[SOLVED]

there isn't a problem with archlinux. is a problem with virtualbox because kernel 2.6.25 drop  support for /proc/bus/usb and now is under /dev/bus/usb .virtualbox need to fix that problem to complain with kernel

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Re: Vbox usb error[SOLVED]

Tried v. 1.6.2? Released today and probably corrects the issue.

Re: Vbox usb error[SOLVED]

The only fix I can find doesn't work on arch.

The usbfs support has been disable in the gutsy version by default.

It works well after turning it on in the /etc/init.d/mountdevsubfs.sh file.

Re: Vbox usb error[SOLVED]

I found a workaround, but I need to know the rc.d equivalent to this file.
/etc/init.d/mountdevsubfs.sh

Re: Vbox usb error[SOLVED]

USB works fine here. I just have to add the following to my fstab:

usbfs /proc/bus/usb usbfs devgid=101,devmode=0664 0 0

gid is the one of vboxusers; might be different for you.
