Hey boys!
Today I tried to connect to the forum via HTTPS, but it doesn't work. It seems that there is only a certificate for the main site 'www.archlinux.org'. Is there any possibilty to create a certificate for the forum, too?

or perhaps an alias to access the forums via www.archlinux.org/bbs/ :>
dunno how far the punBB works with such an alias...

Submit a feature request, if you need it badly.

Although I like the idea, I don't think it'll get done anytime soon. The server load would probably be too much.

SSL adds quite a lot of overhead to the server. Not really ideal for a simple forum like this. I dunno who is paying the bandwidth bill, but u may wanna try bribing them.

This has been brought up before.
Search the forum.
Not gonna happen.

This is definitely something I'd like to see. Nearly everything requiring a login these days make use of SSL. Since Archlinux is so "bleeding edge", how come we're behind?

https would only be necessary if you had sensitive data here or if you use the same password here as everywhere else. https would be overkill in my opinion. Just use a different password than you do with your email or any account that handles sensitive data. That's what I do.
