X crashes whole system when killing it or switching to a VC and back

Hi there. I've have been experiencing a problem with my system, when I kill the xserver it just freezes the whole system by not appearing again so i have to hard reset the computer, the other way the same problem shows is when i switch to a VC and then go back to the xserver, it just freezes the same way, and this is completly reproducible.

Ideas on how to fix this?

Here's my xorg.conf, notice that I do not use any composite managers:

Should I file a bug report?

I don't think so -- how is this handled in your /etc/inittab file though?  (Assuming you're using a graphical display manager of course)
