Hi.
I'm trying to install Archlinux. I've changed the boot sequence, but the CD doesn't boot. Some months ago i've installed another linux distribution and everything worked fine. But now also the CD of the other distribution doesn't work. I've changed the CD drive, i've tried the automatic configuration of hard-disks, i've set all IDEs to automatic. But it doesn't work.
I've GRUB on my HD and it doesn't find the CDdrive. When I go to the GRUB command line and i type:
geometry (
and then press TAB for suggestions, this is the output:
fd0 hd0
There's not the CD drive.
Some months ago everything worked.
Please help me.
Bye,

Try to boot a different computer with the CD you burned.
If it works then you need to setup your bios to boot from the CD drive.
If it doesnt, you probably need to make sure you are burning it right.

It boots with my other computer. I've tried everithing with the bios! I've set the boot sequence right, but it doesn't work. I've auto-detected all hard-disks, and doesn't work. I've restored factory settings, but it doesnt work. The boot sequence is:
1- Floppy
2- CDROM
3- IDE-0
IDE-0 is my hard disk and the cd drive is set at CDROM.

Maybe your bios has a hot key for boot selection? on my bios, pressing F8 at boot time gives me the boot selection menu.
also, maybe the CD Rom drive is not in shape, try using the CDrom that works from the other computer with this one.

I'll try.
