cpio: safe to remove

While updating, I got this message:

Packages that were installed as dependencies but are no longer required by any installed package:
cpio

Is it safe to remove that?

Re: cpio: safe to remove

While it's probably not strictly required, it's a part of the base group. So it might happen that something depends on it, just the dependency is not recorded. I would not recommend uninstalling anything in base, unless you know what you're doing.

Re: cpio: safe to remove

It probably should be a dependency of mkinitcpio, though I'm not really sure...

Re: cpio: safe to remove

I ran the update again and it didn't say that anymore... weird. Must have been some kind of glitch.

Anyway, thanks smile
