Hello Arch Art Gurus,
I'm looking for a 3D version of the Arch Linux logo for use on t-shirts at the Arch Schwag Shop (http://www.zazzle.com/archlinux*).
I have in mind something that has a sort of metallic blue feel to it, looks recognizable as the Arch Logo, probably just extruded a couple 'inches' and rotated about the y axis, is 'shiny' and has lighting, shading, and shadows on it. I'd like for it to look "good" on both dark and light backgrounds, but I have a dark background in mind as the primary picture, maybe highlighted by a spotlight or some such. It should probably also have the tm on there, although I'm not certain about that because its a modified version of the trademark logo.
I don't really have the time or inspiration to whip this up in blender, so I was hoping somebody else would.
In exchange for your efforts you will have your name and Arch forum screenname recognized in association with all products utilizing the image. These products will be displayed as part of the "official" product line of Arch Linux merchandise unless;
a) I get so many incredible contributions that I decide to make a second 3D line for all of them. ;-)
b) I choose somebody else' logo, in which case your logo will still be used in the 'contributed ideas' product line.
In addition if anyone feels like contributing any other Arch related artwork to the Merchandise shop, I will be happy to include them in the contributed line.

They're about $23 for a dark one and $15 for light ones, with potential for a lot of higher priced customization (I highly recommend the microfibre shirt):

I want to do the same thing but with 3D logos.

Here's the .blend file - it's currently a little different from the render I posted, due to some tinkering, but all the important stuff is there.

the texture looks better lossless. This can easily be played with

Secagy, I really like that! Can you send me a png (dusty@archlinux.org) with the background transparent? How do you think it'll look on a white or black background?
