Sometimes the audacious volume bar works, sometimes it doesn't. The switch between working and not working depends on something that I have no idea of. Sometimes while a song is playing, using the volume bar of audacious gives no difference at all in the song. Then some time later, when moving the volume bar in any direction, suddenly the music becomes much louder and that is a sign that now it'll respond to the volume bar again.
The KDE volume control works all the time though.
When the Audacious volume bar is in non working state, the music usually is way too soft.
What's going on? How do I get normal audacious behaviour again? I think more than just audacious is going wrong on my system with sound. I'm also very confused about what is actually responsible for my audio volume, with having an audacious volume bar, a KDE volume control and ALSA volume controls all operating sometimes dependently, sometimes independently, at random times they seem to choose.
