Back to Arch

I had 64 bit Arch in my box. With my hobby of trying various distros, I wandered  a lot and was using Zenwalk for a long time. My favourites were Zenwalk / Vector but Zenwalk disappointed me when I switched the DE in between the default xfce and kde. Still I have Vector as back up distro.

Lastly I have installed / returned to Arch 32 bit and it is fast and no-nonsense as usual.
May be the real competitor is Puppy in terms of speed !

Thanks for Arch developers !

Re: Back to Arch

It's not a question of "going out" but just my habit of trying out other distros.
And Arch has one of the finest helpful and friendly communities in the world.
Never was I let down / snubbed in Arch fora ! cool

not really. when u start thinking about it arch does a lot more doing boot then puppy does or was even designed to do. For one there is no auto mounting in puppy.

Certainly not the largest, that would be ubuntu, but certainly helpful.
There is a higher percentage of more experinced users here.
In the ubuntu forums, if someone wanted me to post the output of a command, they would say
open a terminal and type
sudo fdisk -l
here, they just say
post the output of fdisk -l
and assume you know the rest.
That way is better, because you aren't treated like a beginner if you aren't one.

Long story short, arch is the best distro I have tried so far. (and I have a cd wallet full of distros)

Fustrated Windows users have two options.
1. Resort to the throwing of computers out of windows.
2. Resort to the throwing of windows out of computers.

sure ! but the size restriction may be a reason . And it is best suited to beginners whereas Arch requires at least a little bit of linux knowledge.

Re: Back to Arch

Once you walk down the path of Arch linux forever will it dominate your destiny!
