Today I found out that the new firefox package provided from the extra repository has a nice little OpenOffice.org plug-in, and a file association of ODF files with that plug-in.
Now, initially trying to open a random .odt file from the Internet wasn't very successful - Firefox simply called OpenOffice to open it.
I used the file provided here: http://bodoni.lib.liv.ac.uk/fab4/examples.html
Next thing I did was enabling the plug-in in OpenOffice; tools>options>internet>firefrox>enable (or something like that).
Now (after restarting Firefox and quitting OpenOffice) the plug-in still doesn't work. Any ideas?

According to that, firefox 3 is not compatible with the ODF extension; only 1.5 to 2.0.0.x are compatible with that. Who knows, a version for FF3 must be in development.

It's not the addon, it's the plugin, called OpenOffice.org plug-in and it was automatically supplied with the update to extra/firefox!
Well, it might be they are somehow connected to each other, but I am not sure about it.....
