So, I finally installed Arch. I opted for the CD installer instead of FTP since it seemed no matter which mirror I chose, I couldn't download any packages, but I had connection to the internet and was browsing along quite nicely in links. Having the CD install has put me back a bit, so I knew I had to update. The first thing I did was issue this command:
# pacman -Syu
Then it said pacman needed to be updated, so I updated it, chose one mirror in /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist, and then rebooted. Then I did this:
# pacman -Sc
# pacman -Syu
The good thing is it downloads everything. The bad news is I receive this:
error: could not prepare transaction
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
gpm: /usr/lib/libgpm.so.1 exists in filesystem
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
So now what?
