I recently switched to firefox3, and ever since that happened, it stopped listening to
<application class="Firefox">
<desktop>1</desktop>
</application>
(not sure exactly what it was, i changed it around to try to fix it)
Now, firefox opens on the desktop i'm on AND moves from desktop 1 to whatever desktop is 'opening' firefox (clicking on a link on desktop 2 moves firefox from desktop 1 to desktop 2)
(the same thing happens with NetBeans, but Geany and Pidgin go to the desktops I want them to be at)
I tried fixing this problem by deleting my 'old' rc.xml and replacing it with the one in /etc/xdg/openbox, but it still doesn't work. I ran `xprop` and the 'WM_CLASS(STRING) = "Navigator", "Firefox"'. I tried using
<application name="Navigator" class="Firefox" role="browser">
but that failed to work. I am using the code that is on the top currently.
Has anybody else had a problem like this with Openbox or Firefox, and does anybody have a fix/howto? Thanks

With the firefox 3 from extra, xprop tells me that the wm class is Minefield. That didn't work either, though.
And i have another problem:
When firefox runs on desktop 2, for example, and i click on a link in irssi which runs on desktop 1, then firefox opens the link in a new tab and jumps to desktop 1. Anyone else having the same problem?
Edit: i found a bugreport about it:

Yes, I have tried using <application name="firefox-bin">, but it didn't work.
okraits: that's basically the same problem i'm having
edit:
it seems to start working once you toggle "browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground" in about:config (I got that from the bug tracker link above)

Yes, that works.
On the other hand, firefox 3 seems to have a problem with some certificates so that i'm not able to log into some sites using ssl.
