Hi,
I've been getting strange behaviour from my linux box -- trying to start a samba daemon, but it fails to load, or actually it hangs saying:
:: Starting Samba Server [BUSY]
I've googled for it and found http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=31200 recommending to update the system with pacman -Sy and pacman -Su. I did so, but after pacman finishes fetching all of the packages I get:
error: could not prepare transaction
error: failed to commit trnasaction (conflicting files)
gpm: /usr/lib/libgpm.so.1 exists in filesystem
errors occured, no packages were upgraded.
Any clues?
thanks in advance.

I guess they are in /var/log/samba. I don't run samba on this computer so I can't be sure...

I checked those logs but found no error messages..
What can be causing this problem?

I suggest you start a new post with a title that reflects your problem. You will want to post the relevant parts of your samba.conf too.
