Automounting with HAL

I would like my DVDs/CDs, floppy disks, and USB devices to be mounted when connected, and I know HAL is used to do this. I headed over to the Wiki, and saw this ominous line:

NOTE: this is deprecated from hal => 0.5.10

If it's depreciated, what's the correct new way to do it?

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Re: Automounting with HAL

Well, they all show up for me in file managers - they just don't mount until I click on the icon. I'd like them to be mounted as soon as they are connected.

If you are using kde go controlcenter>>peripherals>>storagemedia and select the default action you want when plugging a new media

I'm using Xmonad, I thought it'd be a bit obvious that I was looking for a config file to edit after reading my first post tongue
