Renaming a package in AUR

I have just inherited the package 'virtviewer' in AUR, but I think it should be 'virt-viewer' rather than 'virtviewer' to keep it consistent with the naming of the project.  Is there a protocol for renaming packages or should I just upload a new package under the new name, delete the old one and add replaces=('virtviewer') to the PKGBUILD?

It looks like I'm maintaining the only package that currently depends on it, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Re: Renaming a package in AUR

There is no real procedure, just the upload new one/delete old one strategy you mentioned.  It does cause the package to lose all its votes.  Anyway, its up to you, but I don't see any great need to change the naming.
