locale setting so i get £ sign

hey all i am using faunos and im trying to set it up so that i get the pound sign, i remember doing this on my arch install and i had to set a locale i just forgot how to

You can uncomment the locale you wish to use in /etc/locale.gen.  Then after that, run:

locale-gen

If you want to set this system-wide, you can also add the locale you need to /etc/rc.conf like this:

LOCALE="your locale"

en-GB is what you want. You also need to set your keyboard to en-GB in conf and in your desktop environment.
