Hello all!
I´m used to work in a Windows (blergh ) environment, mostly beacuse of Delphi (bleeeergh) that i HAVE to use yet. BUT, i´m planning to use only Java/C/C++ ASAP. So, i´m trying to set up an perfect workstation for that languages.
Well, so long, for me, to program in Java/C/C++, those are the 'essential' IDE´s: Eclipse and Anjuta.
So, what yout guys think about sharing here information about the programs, tools, IDE´s you guys use, and are essential, for any developer to use in an Arch machine?

I use 'adie' as my editor (comes with FOX) and rxvt-unicode for my terminal (fast for lots of text output), then for compiling/debugging i use gcc, gdb and valgrind. Sometimes totalview for debugging as well. Ofcourse I have my Goggles Music Manager for playing music while programming .

LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of screen real estate, vim, a web browser and two to three terminals.

Like Goggles, I don't use an IDE. Just a text editor (vim) and compiler (gcc/g++). I don't use a debugger. I debug in my head or if it's too difficult, I write the code to tell me the variable values when I need to know them or to track progress in my programs.
